Preparation for the Kick-Off Event.

30th, April 2011 @ 4:10pm EST

Today marks the kick-off event at Broadway Dance Center, BDC. Kurt Robinson and BDC invited two Broadway guest actors to be there for us. All participants will be briefed regarding the challenge. I will perform and sing with other participants and I'm excited to know and find out what's in-store for us. I am almost done with all the preparation for the challenge. Now, it's time for the hard work.

Two weeks ago I contacted Nicole Johnson, a fellow BDC student, the creator, and director of Motivation Opportunity Vision Entertainment, M.O.V.E. It is a non-profit organization and you may check their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/MOVE-Motivation-Opportunity-Vision-Entertainment/168695093154851 for details regarding their projects. It was Bonnie Erickson  who introduced me to Nicole. Bonnie is the director of the Educational Program at BDC. One of the coolest person I met there. As a challenger, I am required to perform and give back to non-profitable organization to do my charitable deeds. Yesterday, I had an appointment with my nutritionist to consult and ask her advice about eating healthy meals. I have all the information needed and I will continue updating my blog once I have everything organized and documented. My contact person for a live performance agreed to my request and will give me a venue to perform live in front of an audience. It is too early to reveal the details for now but you will be the first one to know for any updates. I will book a studio for 30 days to do my daily vocalizations and practice for 30 minutes everyday beginning tomorrow. I'm set for the voice lessons and all I have to do is book a schedule for that.

I think it is going to be an exciting 30 days for me with lots of surprises doing this challenge. Oh, before I forget... last week a casting agent held an audition to do a reality show for Oprah Winfrey at the Broadway Dance Center. Prior to the audition day, I posted my pictures and applied online. When I arrived that morning for the audition, I was surprised to hear from the casting agent director that he did recognize me and he sounded too enthusiastic to find out more informations about me. We had an informal short chat while I was waiting outside for my turn before I went inside the audition room. Inside the audition room, the two panelist did the same thing and just taking notes while I was talking and responding to their questions. I liked how their eyes sparkled and craved for more informations while I fill them in with details on why I am here and why I am doing this. I feel so delighted that a total stranger can be too enthusiastic to know and find out more informations about me. I just enjoyed the moment. One thing is for sure, if it comes from the heart... you really cannot deny it and I just carried on talking and enjoying my conversations with them. It ended well, I think. Then I said, goodbye and thanked all the staff outside. They greeted me back with a warm smile.

I have to go now and get ready for the kick-off event. Thank you to all of you and please feel free to send your comments, suggestions, and moral support. Wish me luck!!!  :) :) :)
